As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Program, an academic delegation from the University of Sfax, one of Tunisia's most established higher education institutions, visited Gelendost Vocational School. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Hassane Mnif, Vice Rector of Sfax University and faculty member of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Bouaziz, Prof. Dr. Ali Bougatef, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Makni, faculty members of the Department of Food Science and Technology at the Institute of Biotechnology.


During their visit to Gelendost Vocational School, the academic delegation was accompanied by Dr. Didem Akpınar Kankaya, Director of the School; Dr. Şerife Çevik, Head of the Food Processing Department; and Ümran Bayram, Secretary of the School. The meetings focused on technical programs and vocational training, as well as joint research projects, educational activities, and student and academic staff exchange opportunities.


As part of the visit, the delegation also conducted a technical inspection tour of the Meyso Cold Storage in Gelendost. During this visit, apple storage conditions, product quality, cold chain processes, and applied preservation techniques were examined on-site, and information was exchanged on food preservation technologies.


Our university is determinedly implementing its internationalization strategy through collaborations such as those implemented within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA171 project. We thank the academic delegation of Sfax University for their kind visit and hope that this constructive and productive collaboration with Gelendost Vocational School will be long-term and sustainable.
