Services Department/Pharmacy Services Program
The fact that the health
sector is increasingly given more importance in our country and the number of
personnel needed has not yet been met, is increasing the tendency towards the
Pharmacy Services Department. The Pharmacy Services Program, which is part of
the Pharmacy Services Department of Gelendost Vocational School of Isparta
University of Applied Sciences, provides training to meet the need for
qualified assistant technical personnel who have received systematic training
in areas that can assist pharmacists in presenting medicines and medical
products to patients, in parallel with the changes in the understanding of
health services. The Pharmacy Services Program, which was created with the aim
of training the assistant personnel needed by the Pharmacy and pharmaceutical
industry in a completely scientific environment and training personnel with the
necessary equipment and professional skills, aims to provide quality health
services to the society by requiring multidisciplinary studies.

Our mission is to train
pharmacy technicians who know and apply the principles of professional ethics,
are well-equipped, productive, renew their knowledge and skills with scientific
developments, follow technological developments, have analytical thinking
ability, have high self-confidence, are prone to teamwork and are successful in
human relations.
Vision
Our vision is to be a
program that contributes to science at a universal level, trains quality
personnel who are respectful to people, open to change and innovation, and
represents our country at national and international levels.
The
purpose of this program is to train competent personnel who
can work in pharmaceutical companies, pharmaceutical production laboratories or
pharmaceutical sales organizations, who can respond to the demands of customers
who have all kinds of information about drugs and who can inform them about the
effects and use of drugs. Graduates from the pharmacy services department are given
the title of "Pharmacy Technician" and work in the status of health
technician.
In
order to enter the training of the profession;
▪ Students must be high
school graduates or equivalent.
▪ Graduates can be placed
in the programs specified in the ÖSYS Guide if they are successful in the
higher education entrance exams.
Duration
and Content of Education;
The Pharmacy Services
Program is a 2-year associate degree program that provides Turkish education
and training within the Pharmacy Services Department. Students who come to
Pharmacy Services will take many theoretical and practical courses during their
education. The scope of field-specific courses includes drug information and
drug forms, especially for drugs found in pharmacies, and various courses on non-drug
products such as medical products and herbal products. In addition to
chemistry-based courses, there are also practical courses conducted in the
laboratory. Another addition to the application is that the student must
complete a 30-day institutional internship in order to complete the education
process. The internship application is also of great importance in order to
enter the sector.

In parallel with the
theoretical information in the chemistry and pharmacy services courses given to
students in the first year, experimental applications will be carried out in
the application laboratory. In the application laboratory, which has the
necessary equipment on the subject of equipment; calculations in solutions,
labeling of magistral drugs, emulsion preparation studies, learning emulsion
preparation methods, suspension preparation studies, basic pharmaceutical
operations; distillation, distillation, purification, filtration, filter paper
and its use. Extraction, sublimation, crystallization applications, waters used
in pharmacy, pyrogen-free water production applications, label information and labeling
rules, drying; the importance of humidity in drugs, humidity of air, humidity
measurement and drying techniques, stability; stability types and the
importance of stability in pharmacy and solid dosage types will be learned.
Progress
in Vocational Education;
Students who successfully
complete the Pharmacy Services associate degree program can make vertical
transfers if they are successful in the "Vertical Transfer to
Undergraduate Education Exam (DGS)" held every year and within the quota.
Transfers with DGS are among the options;

With approximately 24,000
pharmacies in our country, Program graduates have the opportunity to work as
"Pharmacy Technicians" in various points of the pharmaceutical
service sector;
Students have the
opportunity to work as "Pharmacy Technicians" in pharmacies
affiliated with public hospitals, pharmacies affiliated with university
hospitals, private pharmacies, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, drug
warehouses and various areas of the pharmaceutical industry.
