On
November 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM, as part of the Narco Youth program, Narco-Guide
training was provided to the students of Gelendost Vocational School. Police
Officer Engin ÇAĞLAR, a Narco-Guide Trainer from the Narcotics Crimes Division,
gave information on topics such as the underlying causes of substance use, the
stages that addicts go through from the moment of substance use to the
addiction process, the physiological, psychological, and social damages caused
by substance addiction, and the importance of social environment selection. He
introduced programs developed by the Ministry of the Interior for fighting
drugs, such as UYUMA and NARVAS, and emphasized the institutions and phone
lines where addicts can seek help for treatment. Discussing the methods for
combating substance addiction and its significant importance for the future of
our country, he invited the students to collaborate. The training concluded
with a certificate of appreciation being presented to Engin ÇAĞLAR by Assist.
Prof. Dr. Didem AKPINAR KANKAYA, the Director of the Vocational School, after
answering the students' questions.
The
training conducted as part of the Narco Youth program was followed at 2:00 PM
by a session titled "The Best Narcotic Police is a Mother," aimed at
public institutions and organizations in Gelendost. The training, hosted by our
Vocational School with the participation of Gelendost District Governor Mr.
Mehmet ARSOY, featured Police Officer Engin ÇAĞLAR, who informed attendees
about types of substances, their physiological and psychological effects, and
the roles of families, especially mothers, in the fight against addiction. The
training ended with a closing speech and thanks from Gelendost District
Governor Mr. Mehmet ARSOY.
