The Finance
Program, which includes a 2-year associate degree, began operating in the
2012-2013 academic year. The Finance Department is a department that combines
the fields of law, accounting and economics and has established its existence
primarily to train civil servants. The department is generally taught under
this name as the Finance Department in 2-year vocational schools in
universities in Turkey.
What Do 2-Year Finance Graduates Do and Where Do They
Work?
In general, the
field of activity is the legal and economic evaluation of public expenditures,
the economic and social effects of fund flows between the private and public
sectors. Those working in the public sector are responsible for the supervision
and implementation of state expenditures. In particular, those working in the
Ministry of Finance and Customs are responsible for the supervision of the
Ministry of Finance and Customs, and they work as financial inspectors,
accountants, income controllers, tax control officers, and tax inspection
officers. Those working in the implementation are responsible for the
following: treasury clerks, revenue managers, accounting managers, tax office
managers, and tax office officers.
2 Year Finance Job Opportunities
Graduates can
find jobs in the Ministry of Finance and Customs, the Central Bank of the
Republic of Turkey, Public Economic Enterprises, the State Planning
Organization, Local Administrations, Municipalities, the Court of Accounts and
other public institutions, banks and various organizations in the private
sector. They can also open accounting and financial consultancy offices.
Graduates generally work as auditors and managers in public and private sector
organizations. Foreign language and computer skills are an advantage in finding
a job. Graduates of vocational school of finance can work in the financial
units of private sector organizations or they can work freelance.
Required Qualifications for the 2-Year Finance Department
Must have
numerical thinking ability, high judgment and interpretation power, be interested
in economics, enjoy dealing with details, be careful, organized and patient, be
able to make timely and correct decisions, be able to follow up on the
implementation of decisions, not be uncomfortable working in a closed
environment and be able to communicate well with others.

ADVANCEMENT
- Finance
professionals can vertically transfer to one of the undergraduate programs in
Banking, Banking and Insurance, Economy, Finance and Banking, Customs Business,
Economics, Public Administration, Finance, Capital Markets, Insurance,
Insurance and Risk Management, Political Science, Political Science and Public
Administration, International Finance, International Finance and Banking,
International Business Management, International Trade, International Trade and
Finance, International Trade and Business, International Trade and Logistics,
if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by ÖSYM.
- In public
institutions, they can be appointed to higher positions in line with the
necessary conditions and their working hours (seniority), in-service training
they have received and promotion regulations. If they complete their associate
degree education to undergraduate level (4 years), they can work in managerial
positions such as assistant manager, manager, etc.

TERM AND CONTENT
OF EDUCATION
- The training for this profession is 2 years after high school education.
- Theoretical and practical training is given together in the associate degree
program in finance.
- Students must do a 30-day internship during their education.
